Final Fantasy VII Rebirth PC Version Confirmed for March 2025 Release
Final Fantasy VII
Rebirth PC Edition
Square Enix has officially announced that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store on March 29, 2025. The PC version will feature enhanced graphics, official mod support, and exclusive content including additional story scenes and character costumes not available in the PS5 version.
PC-Exclusive Enhancements
The PC release will support up to 4K resolution at 120fps on high-end systems, with DLSS 3.5 and FSR 3.0 support for improved performance across different hardware configurations. Ray tracing has been enhanced specifically for PC, featuring more realistic lighting in Midgar's environments and improved reflections on the Buster Sword and other metallic surfaces.
An exclusive photo mode allows players to capture screenshots with advanced filters, pose adjustments, and lighting controls. The PC version also includes an expanded soundtrack with remastered tracks from the original 1997 game, accessible through an in-game music player.
Official Mod Support
For the first time in Final Fantasy history, Square Enix will provide official mod support through integration with Steam Workshop and a proprietary mod manager. The system allows for texture replacements, character model modifications, and gameplay tweaks while maintaining save file compatibility and achievement functionality.

Exclusive Content and Story
The PC version includes three hours of additional story content exploring Cloud's past with SOLDIER and new scenes featuring Vincent Valentine and Cid Highwind. These sequences provide deeper context for events in the main story and set up plot threads for the upcoming third installment of the remake trilogy.
New character costumes inspired by the original game's concept art and Advent Children movie are unlockable through gameplay achievements. A special "Classic Mode" allows players to experience combat with turn-based mechanics reminiscent of the 1997 original while retaining modern visual fidelity.
Performance and System Requirements
Minimum system requirements include an Intel i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 2600, 16GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GTX 1060 or AMD RX 580 with 6GB VRAM. For optimal 4K performance with ray tracing enabled, Square Enix recommends an RTX 4080 or RX 7800 XT with 32GB system RAM.
The game will require 150GB of storage space, with an optional high-resolution texture pack adding an additional 50GB. SSD installation is strongly recommended for reduced loading times between areas and during combat encounters.
Cross-Platform Features
PC players can import save data from the PS5 version using Square Enix's cloud save service, maintaining progress and unlocked content. The PC version supports cross-platform achievements and includes integration with Discord Rich Presence for sharing gameplay status with friends.
A special collector's edition for PC includes a premium steelbook case, Cloud's Buster Sword replica keychain, and exclusive in-game items including a unique Chocobo mount and rare materia set.
